Putrada  Ekadashi (lit. "ekadashi that is the giver of sons") is a Hindu holy day, This day is also known as Pausha  Putrada  Ekadashi, to differentiate it from the other Putrada  Ekadashi in Shravana. A son is considered entirely important in Hindu society as he takes care of the parents in their old age in life and by offering shraddha (ancestor rites) ensures well-being of his parents in the after-life. Each ekadashi is prescribed for certain goals, the goal of having sons is so great that two Putrada ("giver of sons") ekadashis are devoted to it. Rest of the objectives loath this benefit. Putrada Ekadashi is observed two times in a year. Ekadashi during Paush Shukla Paksha and Ekadashi during Shravan Shukla Paksha are known as Putrada Ekadashi. Kartik  maas is a Hinduism coined. In the lunar Hindu calendar, Kartika begins with the new moon in November and is the eighth month of the year except in Gujarat. Poornima (fifteenth day Full Moon) falls in this month, celebrated as Dev Deepavali in Maharashtra as per marathi calendar.

Kartik month is the most auspicious month amongst all 12 Hindu months. According to Hindus, pujas, ceremonies, Kartik month give them awesome joy and satisfaction in life because this is the most favorite month for both of the Supreme Gods Lord Vishnu and Shiva.
